In some cases, getting a used, original part is a better option than purchasing a new one. We can always advise and ultimately it’s up to you what parts you want. Used parts are thoroughly inspected, cleaned and parts that are prone to leak are always replaced. Of course, photos are provided, so you can see the repair process in detail.

2002 Sentra GXE
Customer complaint: AC was not cold anymore.
Diagnose: clogged expansion valve.
Solution: complete AC job.
Work done: new AC compressor, new expansion valve, complete AC system flush, vacuum and recharge.
Evaporator with the new expansion valve installed.

The center console and other adjacent parts had to come off in order to reach the evaporator.

Sometimes a simple job can turn into a nightmare! A stripped philips screw. A groove had to be cut with a dremel tool in order to be removed with a flat screwdriver. AC is not cold anymore
There are a few factors that can cause this:
- There is a leak and the system is low on freon.
- The system is overcharged. Too much freon is not good either.
- Some part just broke and it needs to be replaced. AC compressor might be broken or expansion valve / orifice tube might be clogged.
- There might be a problem with an electronic part. Usually these problems are harder to pinpoint and the diagnostic might be quite expensive.
In order to prevent possible AC problems, remember to use it for a few minutes every week, even in cold weather. This will keep the o-rings and the other parts lubricated.
